Programme

The ISSSI 2018 programme will consist of both keynote sessions and co-hosted sessions.
Oral and poster sessions will naturally be an integral part of the programme as well.
For each session, 3 abstracts will be selected to be part of the programme.

Workshop on Gender Research

Time: Friday 24 August, 10.30-11.15

Title: Making gender diversity work for scientific discovery and innovation

Speaker bio:
Mathias Willum Nielsen is an assistant professor at the Danish Centre for Studies in Research and Research Policy, Aarhus University, Denmark. He is a sociologist by training and holds a PhD degree in social science. Nielsen’s research focuses on gender in science including how gender diversity influences research outcomes. Nielsen recently ended a two-year stint as a postdoc in Gendered Innovations at Stanford University. He has published numerous papers on the topic of gender in science, including pieces in Nature, Nature Human Behaviour, PNAS, Journal of Informetrics, Nordic Journal of Feminist and Gender Research, Science and Public Policy, Studies in Higher Education and Scandinavian Journal of Educational Research.
